Women’s Waterpolo Places Third at Regionals
Saturday, April 7, 2012 This past weekend was the Pacific Coast Division Championship Tournament, held at the UC Santa Barbara campus. UCSD was seeded fifth going into the tournament, but ended up finishing third in the division. The Tritons lost to SDSU in the first game, which dropped them out of a spot for Nationals. The Tritons didn’t give up though, because they won the next two exciting games against UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara. UCSD was pleased with the team effort throughout their season and the determination displayed at the championship tournament. This was the Tritons’ last tournament of the season, so the six graduating seniors played their hearts out and left their mark on the increasingly successful UCSD Women’s Water Polo team. The returning players look forward to growing the program and dominating the division next year.
