TRITONS BATTLE IN LAST DOUBLE HEADER OF SEASON
Saturday, May 3, 2014
The UCSD Tritons travelled to Los Angeles this past Saturday to play a double header against the Southern California Trojans in their final games of the season. The first game saw the Tritons get into an early hole before the bats came alive in the last two innings, but it was not enough as USC took the game 8-5. The second half of the double header was a back and forth battle up until the last out, as what would have been a game tying hit was robbed at the warning track, but the Trojans took the contest 5-3.
Triton club baseball would like to thank everyone for their support this year in another successful season, one with many things to grow on for the future. Special shout out to seniors Andrew Stern, Brett Rackie, and Cody Wong who will be leaving the team after four great years with the Tritons. Around since the inaugural season, these seniors won their conference the first three years, were regional runner-ups in two of these, and won regionals and earned a trip to the World Series in 2012 in Georgia. They will be missed but best of luck in all their future endeavors.
